Lumin is a devotional app. What you write in it is personal, and this page describes exactly what the app collects, who processes it, and how to get rid of it.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address, and a display name if you set one.
- Content you create in the app — journal entries, notes, highlights, and prayer entries.
- Your reading history and app settings, so the app opens where you left it.
- Messages you send to the AI study companion, and its replies.
- Subscription status, so the app knows whether Pro is active.
- Crash and error reports, used to fix defects.
Who processes it
Lumin uses a small number of third-party processors. Each one receives only the data it needs to do its job:
- Supabase — hosts the database and handles sign-in. Your account, journal entries, notes, and reading history are stored here.
- OpenAI — generates the AI study companion’s replies. Your message is sent to OpenAI to produce a response.
- RevenueCat — verifies subscription status. Payments themselves are handled by Apple; we never see or store your payment details.
- Resend — delivers transactional email, such as password resets.
- Sentry — receives crash and error reports.
How long we keep it
Your content is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account it is erased from our servers, as described below. Crash reports are retained only as long as they are useful for fixing the defect that produced them.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and its contents from inside the app, at any time, without contacting us. Open Profile, then Privacy, then Delete Account, and confirm.
Deleting your account permanently erases:
- Your account and profile information
- Your reading history
- Your AI conversations
- Your notes and highlights
- Your settings and preferences
This cannot be undone. The same screen lets you download a copy of your data first. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — cancel that in your Apple ID settings, since Apple, not Lumin, manages the billing relationship.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Access, export, and erasure are all available directly in the app under Profile, then Privacy. For anything else, email us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Children
Lumin is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you in the app.
